Picnicking

If you were to take a trip through Kurdistan in the springtime, around the Kurdish new year “Nawroz”, you would undoubtably see many families outside having a picnic. Generally, picnics last for many hours, if not all day long. Lush green roadsides, or parks are ideal places for picnics. Food and all the fixings are packed up in the morning and taken to the spot of choice. Around lunchtime you will likely see people cooking some meat over a fire. Additionally, there will be bread, vegetables, fruit, and of course, Kurdish tea for after lunch. There will be dancing, music, and chatting around the picnic mat spread on the ground.
